We all know the theory when it comes to business growth: set big goals, create a good strategy, and work hard to make it happen. Unfortunately, it's never as easy as it seems during the initial thrill of aiming for the stars.
Often some form of fear holds us back. It can be fear of failure, fear of success, fear of rejection, or any other fear that we recognize but never mention to anyone. The good thing about fear is that if we look for it, we can usually find it.
Even if we never admit it to our closest friends, we can still see fear in their eyes and know what to do about it. We can grit our teeth, work even harder, put those fears out of our minds, and persevere. Our willpower and sheer determination will usually be enough to limit the effect of fear.
Now, the bad news. There is another force that can prevent you from growing your business and unfortunately, this force is subtle, hard to find, and almost always present when we want to scale up. This limiting force that can destroy dreams and neutralize great men and women is known as resistance.
Resistance is an internal struggle that we often ignore because it seems harmless and unimportant. Resistance is the feeling that no matter how hard you try you can't make much progress, it's the feeling that you're trying to speed up but you can't because you feel like You're dragging a heavy load and it's a distracting, foggy mind that makes it hard for you to sit down and focus on the important work that can move your business forward.
What does resistance look like at work?
There are many common symptoms that you may be dealing with resistance.
You set important goals but you fail to follow through on them.
You talk yourself out of implementing plans.
You get distracted by unimportant tasks.
You prepare a lot and yet your preparation is never complete.
Your goals are perfection and delayed action.
You lose touch with the inspiration to create new achievements.
Most of us can relate to these common signs of resistance, but until now we didn't realize that procrastination, lack of action, and a weak mindset are all signs of underlying resistance.
This is why directly addressing surface problems rarely produces the lasting change that keeps you on track and motivated to achieve your most ambitious goals. Only by dealing directly with resistance will you be able to eliminate the interconnected problems that rob you of your potential.
How to be free from resistance.
Thankfully, there are ways to let go of our resistance to success and when we let go of resistance we are free of access to our greater potential, then we enjoy a higher state of mind that allows us to reach our full potential. Focusing on big goals allows us to be the most effective.
When you are free of resistance and you are working hard to achieve your goals it seems easy, it feels like the fun and excitement you have when you are playing a favorite sport. Experience.
Work is fun and you're so engrossed in the present moment that success or failure doesn't cross your mind, you're just giving the project your best shot. Working this way is a simple marriage between knowing and getting stuck in and doing it to the best of your ability.
What do you need to be free of resistance? There are three key elements you need to create a state of mind that is free of resistance.
➤ I Agree with the Purpose.
The first step is to produce a business thing that inspires and motivates you to achieve further. This thing should be meaningful to you and not a pointless thing of growing 10 this time. A unified thing is a commodity you madly say yes to, feeling as if every person in your being agrees," Yes we can! Yes, we will!"
You want to regard other pretensions and raise or lower your prospects until you determine the special spot, the point where the thing is grueling enough to excite you but not so grueling that you try. Do not be discouraged moreover. Eventually, you need to estimate the thing and how it fits into your life outside of work.
Is the thing attainable but so demanding that it'll negatively affect your family life? Acclimate the thing until your demands are large enough to pay.
Unless you have a unified purpose you'll noway be free of resistance and you'll endure an uphill struggle for progress. Accordingly, it's an extremely important first step that deserves further consideration than the utmost people give to each thing.
➤ Effective strategy.
When it comes to strategy, you need a plan of action that will lead you to success indeed if you have to deal with lapses, procrastination, and minor lapses.
Forget about perfection and produce a plan that can keep up with the ups and campo of the real world. still, show your jotting strategy to people you trust for advice and guidance so you can use their commentary to ameliorate the plan you can.
Make any necessary adaptations until you know it's a workable plan that you can and will apply effectively. When you have a solid plan you can execute to get where you want to go, the resistance to success goes down. As long as the plan fits the chops and coffers available, you will feel ready to succeed and get started.
➤ Determination of commitment
