Challenges Faced By Entrepreneurs And Small Businesses

For some, being in business is just a job and a means to an end. For others, it's a calling — a part of their being. Some traders hold themselves to the highest standards and hold true to what they believe in and care about. The challenge for any homeowner is to find a tradesman who cares and loves what he does - a tradesman who is professional in appearance and how he does business.
According to a recent survey, 58% of homeowners say they have a hard time finding a tradesman they can trust to help with home repairs or improvements. Women are more likely to find it "very difficult" to find a tradesman they trust to help with home repairs or improvements. In the UK alone, around £2 billion is spent annually on people who were not able to work.
Although there are many reliable tradesmen all over the world, why do so many homeowners have trouble finding an honest, reliable, professional tradesman? The answer is not easy, but I will try to share my experience and opinion.
I have over 30 years of experience as a businessman, with experience in; Building construction, plumbing, tiling, plastering, and decoration. As a teenager, I enjoyed going to school, but my focus was always on earning a living and raising a family. As a result, I decided to leave home in my late teenage years to try to make my mark on the world.
After moving there, although I had a good work ethic, I found it difficult to get a good job because I didn't have the required 'qualifications', nor did I have a university degree. Consequently, the only jobs available to me were labor jobs or working at a convenience store. Fortunately, I found a tradesman who hired me and started my career by teaching me how to lay tiles. From there, I learned the building, plumbing, plastering, and decorating trades.
Most schools are under pressure to keep kids in the classroom until they graduate. Unfortunately, there are many young people who are either not academically inclined and have difficulty studying, or for one reason or another become a hindrance to classmates.
As a result, more schools are creating a sector called "alternative provision" or "alternative education". This is where many non-academic and/or disruptive children find themselves.
Alternatives Temporary children are exposed to alternative forms of learning such as work-study programs. This is where young people can apply to a trades school or college, and experience on-the-job training such as; Working in trades, learning how to be a beautician and other fields that may not require a university degree. Thus, we have an abundance of young people becoming traders because they cannot find gainful employment due to a lack of a university degree or other specialized training.
There are many people who are in business because 'it's the only thing they can do', or because it's the only thing they're qualified to do. I believe most entrepreneurs want to do a good job and take pride in their work. The challenge is that many entrepreneurs don't have the skills to differentiate themselves from the rest. They are not good business people. I have listed some of the ways that traders are missing out on the professional, high-quality standards that will deliver positive results in their business.
• They write the estimate on a kerchief or piece of dirty paper.
• They arrive late for movables and do not dress rightly.
• They forget to shoot checks or forget to succeed up on overdue checks.
• They do not manage their time effectively and live in a feast or deficit actuality.
• They do not give clean, professional customer estimates and checks, nor do they have a system in place to track them.
• They do not manage relations with guests. A customer may say one thing moment, and another tomorrow. However, the task will turn into confusion and he said- she said' challenge, If you don't have a record of that discussion.
• They do not manage their time precisely and forget or answer customer calls.
• They have no system in place to maintain a valid customer base.
• They have to “ chase guests ” themselves to get paid.
The list could go on, but I suppose you get the picture.
Life is good when you work. still, there are always times when you are not as busy as you would like to be. This is when multitudinous dealers start asking buddies for work or consider joining a website that promises to shoot them leads'. I have set up these spots to be deceiving because they do not address the real issue- helping dealers come more reliable and professional!
These spots charge high freights but do not produce goods. Be honest; How can one click to a" Trusted Trader"?
Unfortunately, it's mainly like TripAdvisor, where a hotel might get a high standing from someone, but your experience might be the exact negative.
One thing any competent, dealer can do is; Be farther professional in what you do!
