Your stand is your shop window!

What made you come to the show? For most people, it's a simple exercise to make a sale, launch a new product, or brand awareness.

You should choose signs, posters, colors, and marketing materials that reflect this.

You don't have to have a big stand.

When you're exhibiting, you need big ambitions, but that doesn't mean you have to have a big budget.

Don't worry about having the biggest stand, location is more important and a smaller stand can work if you get the look right.

Exhibiting at a trade show doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of cash. Try to use things that you can reuse.

You will always find that there are things in your office that you can carry and if you have the space, taking things like chairs means you don't need to hire them.

Test before you go.

Collect everything and make sure it will all fit in your car. There's nothing worse than packing the day before to go to an exhibition hall and it won't fit in the car.

It may take you a while to work out how to fit it all in so you may need to rethink what you're taking.

Once you've got everything in your car, take a picture on your phone to help you remember.

A good idea, if you have the space, is to set it up before you go to work. This way you can see how much space you have to work with and how it will make your customers feel.

Promotional items and gifts.

Make sure your promo gifts clearly display your message or brand and don't end up on the exhibit floor.

If you're going to spend money on gifts, make sure they're something people will take with them and market your business.

Location, location, location.

Where you stand can be important. Before you book your space, get a floor plan and see if you can figure out where your competitors are located.

You ideally want to be on the main walkways but don't worry if all the best spots are booked, you can hire experienced exhibition staff to attract people to your stand.

Who are you taking with you?

Many exhibitors hire experienced promotional and exhibition staff to increase stand footfall.

This is a much cheaper option than taking someone from work where you have to pay for hotel, lunch, and travel.

Remember if you take away one of your salespeople, who is bringing those sales back to the office?

Don't go alone, how are you going to go to the loo if your stand is busy, go to lunch or focus on customers when you have someone else waiting?

Having another person with you means they can chat with customers while they wait, they can promote your brand, take down contact details and there's always someone at your stand.

Is. You can also ask them to go get coffee or make them if you have the facilities.

Tell people about your exhibition stand!

Don't forget to tell people! Post an article on your website, and banners on social media and email your current and potential clients.
